Forest Springs Merino Stud is located at Joel Joel, 8 kms west of Landsborough and 28kms east of Stawell , and 50 kms southeast of Marnoo in a 450 - 500 mm rainfall environment.

Our sheep are run under commercial conditions on various soil types ranging from grey clays, red loams to the lighter foothills of the Pyrenees Ranges, producing a sheep able to thrive in a variety of climates.

An extensive AI program has been undertaken in the past 7 years using Glenlea Park, Wallaloo Park, Ridgway, Willandra, Gunallo ( semen share purchased in Gun 007,sold for $30000 at Classings Classic 2015 ) and Hynam Poll genetics and to fast track our genetic gain . Additional sires have been purchased from Roemahkita and Kamarooka Park Poll in recent years.

We are producing a robust, good doing sheep that has the ability to grow a heavy cutting, bold crimping, richly nourished wools while maintaining an excellent carcase and highly fertile sheep, able to thrive in any environment and any seasonal conditions.

Completion of a Lifetime Ewe Management course and the implementation of EID to enable us to use pedigree matchmaker to mother up all of our top ewes so as to identify our best performing ewes are other tools we are using to take our sheep to another level.
